Getting Started
What is the nature of debenture issued by Rehbar?
A long-term security yielding a profit linked return, issued by a company and usually secured against assets.
My belief system does not allow me to invest in fixed return investments. Can I invest through RFC?
Yes, all the deals are structured with no fixed-return component & are sharia compliant.
Who can invest through RFC?
Any individual who is having a PAN card and an Indian bank account can invest.
How do I get started as an investor with Rehbar?
It is really simple; you can just click here to sign-up as an investor and we will get in touch with you to complete our simple onboarding process.
What are the KYC documents required?
A valid PAN card and proof of residence.
What is the minimum investment?
A first investment has a minimum of Rs 1,00,000 for any available opportunity. After that, the minimum ticket size depends on the product: Rs 1 Lakh for debentures and Rs 50,000 for Mutual Fund investment.
What is the investment process?
The investor has to share the following details. Once the investor sends these details to info@rehbar.co.in, our investor relations team will get in touch and onboard you.
- Amount to be invested
- Investor Name
- Father’s Name
- Address
- Phone No
- Email ID
If I am an NRI, can I invest from NRE account?
Yes, you can invest from NRE account, but you will also need to provide your NRO account for the purpose of profit/principal repayments.
What kind of agreements will I need to sign?
To invest in the Sharia-compliant debentures, you will need to sign a debenture subscription agreement, which will be shared with you.
Returns & Investment
What is the expected return on investment?
Individual opportunities are structured targeting 10%-14% per annum. That is indicative of the deals we present rather than a promise — every return here is profit-linked, so what you actually receive depends on how the underlying business performs.
On an average, what returns can I expect?
Averaged across a portfolio and over time, expect 8% to 12% per annum. This sits below the 10%-14% indicative range on an individual opportunity because an average also carries the deals that underperform — which is what profit-and-loss sharing means in practice.
How frequently do I get the returns?
The returns are paid out on quarterly basis.
Do you offer any guarantee on returns?
To ensure that the investment is Sharia compliant, we do not guarantee any fixed returns.
When & how will I receive my returns?
The returns are deposited at the end of every quarter into your registered bank account.
Fees, Tax & Reporting
What is the TDS impact on my investment?
TDS at the rate of 10% is applicable.
What are the fees for investing through RFC?
We do not charge the investors for investing through Rehbar. We collect consultancy fee or commission from the businesses/SPVs/Mutual funds that the investors invest in.
What are the reporting standards and disclosures?
We believe in 100% transparency to build trust with our investors. At the end of every quarter, we will share detailed quarterly reports to update you on the performance of the money invested.
Are there any tax deductions on returns?
TDS is deducted at 10% on the profit disbursed (as per section 193).
How will I be updated on the performance of my investments?
As mentioned above, you will be kept updated on the performance and returns received via quarterly reports through email. You can also log into the investor portal to see updated information about the investments you have made anytime.
Exit & Tenure
What is the lock-in period for investment?
There is no lock-in — you can exit whenever you choose. What takes time is arranging the exit itself, which is about a month typically and ranges from 15 to 60 days depending on the amount invested.
What is the exit period if I want to exit the investment?
The exit period ranges from a minimum of 15 days to a maximum of 60 days, depending on the invested amount. About a month is typical.
CCDs are compulsorily convertible at the end of 10 years. What does this mean?
Generally, we advise that the investors exit their investment before the conversion at the end of 10 years and reinvest in fresh CCD issued at that point. If the investor wants to remain invested after conversion of CCDs to equity, he will get annual dividends instead of quarterly pay outs. Exit period will also be longer once it is converted to equity.
What are the documents needed to avail funding?
We will send you a checklist of documents required. We do a detailed study of your existing business before participating with you in one of the three products — asset leasing, profit sharing loan and project finance — before taking things further.
What is the minimum investment you facilitate in a business?
For lease and project finance, we can start with Rs 10 Lacs. For Profit sharing products, the minimum outlay would be Rs 30 Lacs.
